Pop-up City III (타이포잔치사이사이) : 국제 타이포그래피 비엔날레 행사장조성

문화역서울 284 RTO 공간에서 국제 타이포그래피 비엔날레 행사가 열렸다. 문화역 서울 284 RTO공간은 근대건축 유산으로 오래되고 허름한 원형 그대로의 공간을 가지고 있다. 이러한 공간에 약 100여명의 관객이 함께 모여 공연과 강연할 수 있는 무대와 객석을 만들어 주었다.

디자인은 기존 공간의 분위기를 더욱 살리는 방향으로 진행되었다. 45도로 비튼 파렛트 모듈의 수평쌓기로 객석을 만들어주었고, 파렛트 모듈로 올린 수직벽은 낡은 콘크리트와 철골과 어우러지며 전체 공간을 감싸 안아주었다. 재료의 원초적 느낌을 최대한 살려 오래된 공간미와 조화되는 행사 공간을 창출하였다.

The International Typography Biennale event was held at Culture Station Seoul 284 RTO space. Culture Station Seoul 284 RTO space has an old and shabby original space as a heritage of modern architecture. In this space, about 1000 pallets created a stage and audience seats for performances and lectures for about 100 people.

The design was intended to preserve the atmosphere of the existing space. The auditorium was created by horizontal stacking of pallet modules twisted by 45 degrees, and the vertical walls raised by pallet modules harmonized with the old concrete and steel frame of original building, and embraced the whole space. By maximizing the original sense of the materials, it created an event space that harmonizes with the beauty of old space.
